Extra Credit_ Food inc.

Hello Fellow Bloggers!

The other day I was recommended to watch a movie called Food inc.  It was on Netflix so I gave it a chance. This movie opened my eyes on how the industrial food plants work and honestly the process they used was disturbing. One of the facts that was mentioned in the movie went something like this “ Because the male chickens shouldn't produce eggs, they are all collected and dumped into the trash to died” That fact made me teary because how can people be so cruel towards animals especially when the are so small. At the same time little part of me was happy because they had a short life. Good for them because the female chickens lived in terrible conditions, with feces and dead chickens everywhere. They were forced to live in buildings with thousands of other chickens. There was this 10 second segment of the movie where the farmers where picking up the chickens would arrive at night and they would kick the chickens into cages. what was sickening was that a lot of the people that ran these companies that would engineer the poor animal work for the EPA, FDA. Where is the safety of the consumer? It is nowhere to be found. In my opinion we should go back to where we started but people want convenience. This is why I try to support them the least I can and try to purchased mostly everything organic. Now I am off to brush my teeth will my organic toothpaste.
