Entry #10 The Wings

Hello Fellow Blogger.

Today while I was eating some chicken wings for lunch at the hospital cafeteria. I realized that every time that I would eat the wings I would get this thirst that wouldn't go away. I haven't really put thought into the cause because I was always distracted cause of work. But today because it was a calm day, I started to question my self. The first thought that came into my mind was “what if i have diabetes?” this is because one of the symptoms of diabetes in having a lot of thirst. Yet again it only happened when I ate chicken wings so I was puzzled. I asked one of my nurse friends who just got her masters and is going to become a nurse practitioner soon and told her what was going on. After a series of questions, she told me that it was probably because of the high salt concentration in the wings. She explained that when there is too much salt in the body, the body tried to dilute the salt with water. After she said that it all clicked in, I remembered something my biology teacher have mention before that “water always followed water”. I felt relieved after the news.

  1. These kind of things always happens to me where I get one symptom of some crazy problem and instantly begin to panic so I get where you were coming from.

  2. I've tried no salt cleanses for a week or so. It's amazing how when I start consuming regular food again, I notice how much unnecessary salt is in everyday food.
